Heart of Glass - Celebration, Release Day and Giveaway

Good morning, lovely readers!

Welcome to my revamped blog *strokes the pretty*. I'm so thrilled by how wonderful it looks. Thank you to Jessica from Finger Lakes Flash for all your hard work on making it look so fantastic.

It's been 5 long years to the day (how serendipitous) since my first published novelette, Heart of Glass was released as part of the Second Chances Anthology back in 2012.

There's a story behind how this little tale came about, the character of Heath inspired by two men I crossed paths with on a regular basis some years ago. Two men whose lives were a day to day struggle. Two men I'll never forget.

Now it's been given new life, been reedited and has a gorgeous new cover thanks to Jessica at Finger Lakes Flash, and I am so proud and excited to bring it to you once more.

Thank you for my wonderful beta readers Susan Reeves and Kaye P. Hallows. Without your support, this story wouldn't be what it is today.

BLURB

Days after arriving in Australia for a working holiday, Zack Doherty is blindsided by the connection he instantly feels to Heath Connors.  Zack is uncharacteristically forward in pushing Heath to accept a date.

Heath has only recently had the courage to admit his true self, walking away from his marriage and a good job when he could no longer lie to himself. The attraction he feels for a stranger that fleetingly crossed his path confirms he made the right choice. Will Zack be the one to mend Heath’s heart of glass?

EXCERPT - ZACK DOHERTY

I headed for the bathroom, smiling at the thought of the man who had captivated my interest. But once I opened the door, the most beautiful voice I’d ever heard echoing through the room, my head snapped toward the sweet, melodic sound. There, standing at the sink, humming to himself as he washed his hands, was the man who’d been on my mind non-stop for the past twenty-four hours. Dressed in a white T-shirt and worn, pale blue jeans which hugged his ass in all the right places, he looked scrumptious. Gaze trailing upward, I noted his sun-kissed hair was thick and long, just as I’d pictured, but this time it was smoothed back into a ponytail. As I drew closer, I noticed he smelled of soap, so fresh and clean, and couldn’t hold back my moan. That was when he glanced up, baby blues widening as he caught my reflection in the mirror.

“Well, hello again.” My voice may have sounded calm, sexy even, but in truth I was jumping out of my skin, heart about ready to burst as he turned to face me.

“Oh. Hi.” He dried his hands and tossed the used paper towel into the trash, then scratched his chin and stared all over the place. His obvious shyness was so damn cute, but as he pushed past me and headed for the door, I began to panic. I didn’t want him to go, but it was clear I was making him uncomfortable.

Before my head could catch up with my body’s actions, I’d grabbed him by the arm and whirled him around, then used my free hand to slam the door shut.

“Wh-what are you doing?” His tone was surprised rather than angry, and I hoped that was a good sign.

     “Don’t go.”
